Hello! My name is Gaëlle Gilles, and I am a graduate student at Pace University studying computer science with a concentration in software engineering. I have built a few applications for Android phones with one of my favorite applications being a transit ticketing app. To learn more about the projects that I've built, visit the project page of my website.
Prior to attending Pace University in 2020, I graduated from Kean University with a bachelor's degree in English writing in 2017. While at Kean University I was very active in the community and volunteered with several local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Community Food Bank of NJ. I continued to help others after graduating from Kean University by volunteering with AmeriCorps from 2019 to 2020. I worked at a middle school in Newark, NJ--a low income area--where I tutored special education kids in both math and English Language Arts.
As I continue to gain experience in Android Development, I continue to educate myself in other areas of software development such as web development. In the future, I want to continue to help others by creating a non-profit organization that will help kids in lower income areas learn about computer science. The program will be geared towards students in middle and high school, and it will run after school and during school breaks.
